Hey everyone, 

this session we had the opportunity to learn about, and create our own podcasts. Podcasting is something I am somewhat familiar with, however I have never thought about making my own. This session gave me the opportunity to create my own podcast using Garage Band on my mac. I’ve had this app since I bought my laptop, however I had no idea I could use it to make podcasts up until now. Podcasting is a great way to get your voice and opinion out to other Internet users. The cost to create a podcast is virtually free, which is another reason why it would be desirable to students and even teachers.

I’ve never really thought about how podcasts could be a useful technological tool, however having completed this session I can see how it can be beneficial in many ways. One use I thought of is for professors to present their lectures via a podcast. I actually had one of my professors upload a podcast for one of his lectures last year. It was extremely useful and easy to follow. Making use of podcasts in the education system would provide a convenience level that in class courses don’t offer. It’s a great way to communicate with other Internet users as well, as they can add their own comments or opinions for you to read. I expect that teachers and professors will use this tool more frequently in the future. Below, you can listen to the podcast I created talking about my experience in the course thus far.
